Story
HONEY AND CLOVER is a romantic comedy about a group of art school students who try to scrape by, barely earning enough money to buy food and pay their rent. But as soon as an innocent and talented 19-year-old girl enters their lives, things get a lot more complicated as love triangles result.
Hama Art College students Takemoto, Mayama and Morita aren't necessarily living fancy lives, but they're having fun. Takemoto has a deft touch with his art, but he's not at his best with relationships, while Mayama is calm and gentle, and Morita is a eccentric genius and a rootless wanderer. When Hagumi Hanamoto, a relative of Professor Hanamoto, arrives at the college, Takemoto instantly falls in love with her upon seeing her dynamic paintings, which are a major contrast with her pretty, charming exterior. Morita, who has returned to the college after a long break, also falls for Hagumi immediately. Meanwhile, Mayama is obsessed with the architect Rika, whom he met on a part-time job, but Rika still cannot rid herself of memories of her lost father. Mayama's spirited classmate Ayumi Yamada has an unrequited crush of her own on Mayama. Five one-sided feelings are tangling, with no answer in sight...
