The film follows the unstoppable all-female Japanese idol group, AKB48, and offers an insightful glimpse into the challenges that the group’s members have faced during their rise to international stardom.

Ping Pong – Japan Relief Screening

NEW PEOPLE’s 6th fundraiser film for the tsunami and earthquake victims of Japan is Taiyo Matsumoto’s manga turned film Ping Pong! High school and table tennis are very complicated.

Earth Day Tokyo Tower Volunteer Center started its activities In response to the Northeastern Japan’s tsunami and earthquake devastation on March 11, 2011. The group sends volunteers into the devastated area to clean up, make food, hold events to cheer up children, setting up food courts, and more. The weekend volunteers are sent to the hard hit regions on buses running on used tempura oil.

This will be a TWO DAYS ONLY screening on Friday (7/22) and Saturday (7/23) at Gaslamp 15 Theater only 5 min away from the convention center. And as requested by many fans, both films will be shown in Japanese with English Subtitles.
